Criminele jongeren vaak licht verstandelijk gehandicapt

UvA-sociologe Marigo Teeuwen presenteerde deze week haar boek Verraderlijk gewoon. Het is een onderzoek naar criminele jongeren met een 'licht verstandelijke beperking'. Teeuwen stelt dat in het jeugdstrafrecht licht verstandelijk gehandicapte jongeren de laatste jaren sterk oververtegenwoordigd zijn geraakt.

Jan Nijman receives the 2011 Jackson Book Prize for his book Miami: Mistress of the Americas

The 2011 Jackson Book Prize was awarded by the Association of American Geographers to Jan Nijman for his book, Miami: Mistress of the Americas, published by the University of Pennsylvania Press.

Open Access: SAGE and Springer Open Choice

Corresponding UvA-authors now receive a 90% discount on the OA fee of 158 selected SAGE journals. The Open Choice agreement with Springer will end on 1 July 2012.
